Herbed Drop Biscuits

herbed biscuits
As mentioned yesterday, these biscuits go very well with Oregano Potato Soup. They are also extremely simple to make . . . you can literally whip them up in just a couple of minutes and let them bake while you finish dinner. I love biscuits and use them frequently to compliment meals.

Herbed Drop Biscuits

Makes 8 biscuits

2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. dried oregano
1/2 tsp. dried basil
1/3 c. margarine
1 cup milk/water

Preheat oven to 400ยบ.

Mix dry ingredients in a bowl. Use a fork to cut the margarine into the mixture or just use your fingers to break it into pea sized chunks.

Pour in milk and beat rapidly with a spoon until JUST mixed. Drop by the spoonful onto a greased baking sheet. Bake for 10 min. or until golden brown. Best served hot.

Our family loves biscuits for breakfast and dinner… These look fantastic! :)

Aaah, so that is what you guys call biscuit. I was a bit shocked to read it from previous post. Biscuit and soup? Holy maloney! Then the recipe says it all.

Around here and my country, biscuit means “cookies”. Of the hard varieties. Chocolate chips biscuit = chocolate chip cookies. I thought it was a bit odd to be dipping cookies into soup. Haha.

I’ll definitely be trying this, now that I know it’s not cookie. Yummmm.

  • Genesis says:

LOL, Gloria. I`m curious though, what do you call THESE then?
