Double Chocolate Chunk Bars

chocolate chunk bars

These delicious bars are SO simple to make, you can even let your kids mix them up, yet they are still a big hit at parties and potlucks.

Double Chocolate Chunk Bars

Makes 24 bars

1 3/4 c. flour
1/2 c. cocoa powder
1 tsp. baking powder
1 c. butter, softened
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla extract
3 medium eggs
2 c. chocolate chunks

To get your chunks, just break up a chocolate bar . . . I used milk chocolate, but I think white chocolate would be even better.

Preheat your oven to 350ยบ.

In a medium sized bowl, blend butter, sugar and vanilla until smooth. Add eggs and mix for one minute.

In another bowl, mix flour, baking powder and cocoa. Add half the mixture to the butter mixture and blend. Add remaining flour and blend until smooth. Adding it in two parts prevents choco-dust from flying around your kitchen!

chocolate batter

Now, stir in the chocolate chunks and spread the batter into a 9×13″ pan and bake for 15-20 min. or until a toothpick stuck in the middle comes out clean. Let cool before cutting into bars.
