Looking for Halloween recipes? We've done a special holiday themed round up this week to help you out.

It’s high time to start thinking about what you’re going to serve at the Halloween party this year and there are plenty of ideas around the internet. While we will be featuring some great ideas here on Gourmet Mama, as well, I’ve collected some awesome ideas from other blogs, too.

For example, if you really want to gross people out, this Kitty Litter Cake looks too disgusting to even think about trying. Would YOU eat one of those chocolate logs?

Cackleberry has a non-disgusting, seriously cool idea for a pumpkin pizza that your kids can help you make for Halloween. Looks delish!

Rice Krispy Skulls on Sticks are perfect for little kids who wouldn’t eat anything too gross and Upside Down Pumpkin Filled Chocolate Cupcakes are a great dessert for adults and kids alike.

How about some Sticky Bat Wings? The black, slimy chicken wings sound delicious if you can get past the looks.

For those with a sweet tooth, a coffin cake and monster are a great centerpiece.

I’d love to hear what your favorite Halloween recipes are! Share them in the comments.

I’m in dessert mode this week! With my new ice cream machine buzzing away on nearly a daily basis (good thing my in-laws have been gobbling up every recipe I try or there would be a lot of extra pounds floating around here), we’re all about sweet stuff in this house right now. So it made sense to take a look at what tasty sweets are cooking up around the net these days for this recipe roundup.

If you’re looking for Italian desserts, they seem to be pretty darn popular these days. Check out this ever-so-delicious sounding Italian Cheesecake Dessert that involves no less than three mentions of chocolate in the ingredient list. Or, if you’re in the mood for something truly unique, why not go with Cannoli, a traditional Italian dessert? You’ll need cannoli tubes, but I think being able to make these delightful pastries is worth the investment!

A few months back, I posted a recipe for Chocolate Avocado Paté . . . well, here’s a recipe for Healthy Chocolate Pudding with avocado and bananas as the base. Sounds delicious!

Another option for an interesting dessert is this Spiced Pickled Fruit. This isn’t an instant dessert though, you will be putting your canning skills to use for this one.

Do you have any favorite dessert recipes to share?

It´s been busy, busy, busy around here and so this week I took the liberty of looking for some super fast recipes that you can whip up in just a few minutes . . . yet still impress company with.

For those of you who prefer to have a full menu plan, here´s a quick meal for every night of the week.

To really kick it up a notch, while keeping things quick and easy, try this Broiled Salmon with Spinach Feta Saute. It looks like a delicious dish that anyone would be able to make . . . a great dish to have in your standard company´s coming recipe box!

Or, if you just want to be able to toss something in the oven and deal with it later, then Summer Squash and Sausage might be just the ticket. Also in that hearty meal vein, we have Pantry Potato Soup.

What are your favorite fast dinner recipes?

While here in Guatemala it´s the rainy season, Cherith has been complaining about the heat back up in Canada, so I thought we should probably start featuring some yummy recipes that go well with the summer heat. If you have a favorite way to chill out with food, be sure to leave a comment!

Homemade popsicles are the best way to cool down without spending too much cash and there are several recipes here to keep you busy. I love to make popsicles for the boys and just keep some on hand in the fridge. It sure beats the chemically expensive ones at the shop. . . I guess we need to do a post on that soon, too!

With the summer heat come delicious fresh veggies. If you are tired of the usual recipes, then you might like this tasty version of cauliflower, done very simply, but very deliciously.

Another unique and very lovely recipe is this Citrus & Roasted Pepper Salad with Balsamic Vinegrette . . . really neat combination and it gives you another excuse to use the roasted pepper recipe I just posted.

Bean Salad is a hearty Mexican salad that I really love to make. Everyone has their own version adn this one looks particularly tasty! Or, if you prefer something more American in style, a good old fashioned potato salad is just the thing.

And of course, this summery list wouldn´t be complete without an ice cream recipe! Why not beat the heat with a super tasty Mango Ice Cream recipe?

It`s been a hectic week around here with my youngest son turning 2 and a lot of work pouring in for both Cherith and myself. And everyone knows the secret to being productive is a great breakfast! Well, that`s what our recipe roundup is focusing on today. If you`ve been finding yourself lacking in ideas for that first and most important meal of the day, here are some ideas to get you going.

First up, a classic breakfast, or two. Here are some delicious, diner-style recipes for Buttermilk Waffles and Sour Cream Pancakes. I`m not a huge fan of pancakes, but there are some little people in my family who would go nuts for these!

A great way to make breakfast once and eat for a week is to take the time to make some granola. What I love about this is that you can totally customize it, adding dried fruit and nuts of your choice, yogurt covered raisins, chocolate chips, or other grains and spices to taste. Plus, it keeps for quite some time and makes a great snack, too.

Another make ahead breakfast that sounds divine are these Strawberry Lemon Muffins. Rest assured they will be making an appearance soon in our home since we are fans of both flavors!

Cranberry Granola Cookies are a great way to fool your kids into thinking they`re getting a treat for breakfast. Though these really do sound like a treat . . . maybe we`re not fooling anyone!

And last, but not least, here`s a raw breakfast smoothie recipe. Even if you aren`t a raw foodist, having a nice smoothie once in a while will give you an energy boost and get you going in the morning.

I`ll leave you with a shot of my son`s birthday cake that I made for him on Sunday . . . which we had for breakfast on Monday!

While it`s fun to cook nice elegant meals from time to time, if you`re a normal mom, you need fast, delicious dinner ideas on a more regular basis. So, with that in mind, I`ve searched the internet for dishes that are both fast to make and appetizing.

Fish is well known for cooking up fast and this Quick and Easy Halibut is something that you can whip up in no time while still impressing your family and friends. Or, for something even more elegant and just as fast, this Quinoa Salad With Scallops & Snow Peas fits the bill, too.

If you prefer beef to fish, then you might want to try making some tasty Grilled Meat Munchers that will give you an excuse to set up the grill . . . or just make them in a skillet if you prefer.

In the realm of chicken, this Chicken Oregano sounds divine and fast, as does 10 Minute Szechuan Chicken.

Feeling up for something a little more challenging than usual? I suggest these Italian Manicotti Crepes. They look delicious and I think I`m going to have to try them out one of these afternoons.

Here`s a quick and easy, yet delightfully gourmet recipe that you can use as a side dish the next time you`re surprised by company last minute . . . Herbed Carrots with Ginger Garlic.

And if you have some salmon to grill, try this super simple Grilled Salmon Fillet recipe. Very easy, very good and you`ll impress everyone with your amazing skills.

Did you know that April is Grilled Cheese Month? I had no idea until a couple of days ago. Now, you might not think that grilled cheese is worthy of a spot on the Gourmet Mama recipe list, but I think you`ll be pleasantly surprised with these awesome alternatives to the standard issue grilled cheese.

Woman`s Day has done an excellent article on gourmet grilled cheese with ten different variations. Granted, these aren`t actually recipes, but once you read the ingredients, I`m pretty sure you can make them up yourself.

Recipe Girl got the whole family involved in making yummy experimental cheese sandwiches. There`s something for everyone on her post for this month, so check it out.

If you`re looking for something more daring, I would recommend trying this very different recipe, Grilled Cheese with Mango and Cardamom Jam.

Here`s a drool-worthy cheese melt for you . . . and there`s a link to the perfect tomato soup to dunk it in, as well!

Or perhaps you`d prefer a grilled cheese sandwich that has the soup built right into the sandwich like this fun recipe!

And the final sandwich in our lineup isn`t even made up of bread and cheese, but instead, cheese and eggplant . . . what a neat combination.

Hurry, you`ve only got a couple more days to make these!
