Apple Cinnamon Scones
What could be better for breakfast than some delicious scones with butter or whipped cream? Well, let me tell you . . . apple cinnamon scones. They’re so delicious that you’ll find yourself eating more than one, even though they tend to be somewhat heavy!
Apple Cinnamon Scones
Makes 12 scones
1 1/2 c. flour
1/2 c. sugar
2 tsp. baking powder
1 Tblsp. cinnamon
1/4 c. butter, cold
2 apples (about 1.5 c.) shredded
1/2 c. rolled oats
1/2 c. milk
2 Tblsp. milk
2 Tblsp. sugar
1 Tblsp. cinnamon
Preheat the oven to 400ยบ.
Mix dry ingredients and cut in the butter until it is all broken into tiny pieces. Add the apple and milk and stir until just moistened. Pat out two large (8 inch) circles on baking sheets and score them into six wedges.
Mix the sugar and cinnamon. Brush the scones with milk and then sprinkle with the cinnamon sugar.
Bake for 15 minutes or until golden brown. Enjoy!
