About Us
Genesis is the eldest of four girls and lives in Guatemala with her Latino husband, Irving and their two small boys, Dorian and Dante. She loves cooking and enjoys the array of fresh fruits and vegetables available in the local markets. Besides preparing meals for her three guys, Genesis has spent years working as a nanny and has also worked as a cook in several Guatemalan restaurants and bars.
She enjoys experimenting with food and learning new recipes and techniques, which means she watches a lot of cooking shows! Genesis is also a natural born teacher and enjoys showing others how to create fun, delicious meals. She currently works as a freelance writer and blogger. Cherith is the third of four girls and works as a thrift store manager on the west coast of Canada at the moment but has over 8 years experience as a nanny and has worked as a cook for two different catering companies, a small diner and a high class restaurant. She also was the head cook for a summer camp at age 16 where she cooked meals for over 300 campers and staff including her famous happy happy face pancakes!
Working with many different families with as few as 2 and as many as 8 children, she learned to be creative in cooking meals for kids that were both healthy and delicious and would often get the kids to join her in the process, although they always managed to disappear for the clean up. Her dream is to one day own her very own bakery/café where she can serve up her specialties such as monster cinnamon buns, pumpkin muffins with cream cheese icing, fresh made breads and an array of homemade soups and salads.
